Amel Melih is a 27 years old Algerian swimmer who evolved in Lyon and is the holder of several African and Arab titles. She marked the beginning of her career in 2011 at the Pan Arab championships where she won first place on the podium and then obtained a bronze medal at the African Championships at the age of 16.
Later in 2016, she managed to bring gold to her country during the African Swimming Championships in the freestyle event. She then qualified for the Tokyo Olympics in the 50m freestyle event, during the second stage of the Mare Nostrum circuit last June, beating her own national record.
The athlete is thus realizing her dream for which she has worked hard for several years, and is committed to representing her country in the best possible way in the MGO 2022 which will take place on June 25 in Oran.
